CREATURE MARK
Objective
Use basic design features to interpret a given creature and convey its distinct physical, behavioral, and personality characteristics. Examine how to translate a natural form into a visual language while maintaining its meaning and characteristics.
Research
I chose the moose and first started researching things like, what even is a moose? And what does a moose represent? The moose is known for its immense size, distinctive broad antlers, and the flap of skin under its throat known as the bell.
Once I found an image with a moose form that I liked and thought was dynamic, I traced it in Illustrator and used geometry to create a rough outline that I could continue to iterate on.
Iteration
I focused a lot on the minor details, including the eyes, the bell, and adding more symmetry to the antlers.

CREATING A COMPOSITION
Objective
The second part of this project was to add our creature mark to a composition, along with a short phrase related to our animal. We used the fundamental root-two rectangle and the Fibonacci sequence to structure the composition, while modifying the typography to bring the phrase to life.
